Just in case you've not done a word search before, the rules are simple. A grid of letters is presented to you, with a list of words beside it. The list is usually themed - for instance a sports wordsearch - and you must find all the words in the grid.
Words are hidden in a variety of orientations, but always in a straight line in an orthodox crossword; that may be up/down, left/right or diagonally from left to right/top to bottom or right to left/top to bottom. Words may also be written backwards, so there are a total of eight ways an individual word could be hidden in a word search grid.
